“The tighter you squeeze, the less you have.” - Thomas Merton

The scarcity vs. the abundance mindset is the framework that’s had the biggest impact on me as an entrepreneur.

With a scarcity mindset, we focus on competitors. We make bad decisions because we are chasing short-term gains.

The scarcity mindset is fearful and greedy.

It seeks to get the most that it can in the shortest time. It doesn’t know how much is enough because it's afraid there is never enough.

On the other hand, the abundance mindset knows that there is enough for everyone. It trusts the process and the long-term vision. It’s not afraid of someone getting there first.

The abundance mindset allows us to lean into our core values and chart our course.

We can recommend our competitors if we think they will better serve the customer. We can say no to an opportunity that doesn’t align with our core values.

The shift to an abundance mindset opens us up to do our best work.
