Motivation is the result of action, not the cause.
I often get this wrong and expect motivation to be the force that moves me forward.
“I’m just not motivated” is actually an easy problem to solve.
Instead of waiting for motivation to magically appear, we just need to start moving.
Write an outline.
Jog for 10 minutes.
Clean off a desk.
By moving in the direction we want to go we give ourselves a chance to build momentum.
With a little momentum, it’s easier to keep going further in the right direction.
Momentum puts us in a good mindset. We’re feeling progress. We’re in the flow.
Motivation shows up when we’re in the flow of the experience.
We’re motivated to keep going. To experiment with something new. To push ourselves a bit further.
Motivation is what creates the big ideas & big results.
But it all starts with a little movement in the right direction.

This concept comes from Sahil Bloom. One of my favourite follows & newsletters.
Movement -> Momentum -> Motivation
Motivation is the result of action, not the cause.
