Over more than a decade of owning a business with my wife we've grown our business, had two kids, built a house, taken plenty of vacation time and (most importantly) have a better relationship now than when we started.
There are plenty of ways to measure success other than your net worth. Defining success by metrics other than finances will lead to a more fulfilling life.
Problems are inevitable. Building your life and business in a way that embraces problems can save you a lot of headaches.
This is the framework I come back to re-visit at least once per year since 2009.
